I-1. From Kansai Airport (KIX) to Kobe
A flight bound for Kansai Airport, Osaka, is highly recommended for participants from foreign countries.

After arrival at Kansai Airport, it is recommended to take a highway bus from the airport to Sannomiya, the central area of Kobe City (approx. 70 minutes ride, 1,900 Yen for a single ride, 3,000 Yen for a round trip). The bus stop at the airport is placed in front of the ticket vending machine No. C, in the ground floor outside the terminal building of the airport. Please purchase your ticket for the bus with the vending machine. Here is a photograph of the bus stop.

The final bus stop of the highway bus is Sannnomiya, where you can take a taxi to Kobe Institute (please show this page to a taxi driver at Sannomiya. Usually it costs less than 2,500 Yen but maybe a little more. Or, you may take a city bus at Sannomiya if you are not tired, but then you need to climb from the nearest bus stop to the venue for 15-20 minutes).

Please look at the Airport Limousine web site From Kansai Airport to Kobe.
They explain the details of how to take a bus at Kansai Airport.

The bus stops at Sannomiya station in Kobe are also explained in their Sannomiya map.

Please look at this map of Sannomiya too.

Do NOT try to take a taxi from Kansai Airport directly. It is very expensive. Please first come to Sannomiya.

I-2. From Narita Airport (NRT) to Kobe
It is better if you can avoid arriving at Narita Airport, Tokyo, because it is a little complicated to reach Kobe.

(i) If you can find a flight from Narita Airport to Itami Airport (Osaka), it is a bit easier to reach Kobe area. Note that this flight is very crowded. It is a rare case that you can book a seat. At Itami Airpot, you can take a highway bus bound for Sannomiya (approx. 40-50 minutes). Please take a city bus or a taxi at Sannoymiya to reach Kobe Institute.

(ii) If you cannot find a flight from Narita Airport to Itami Airport, then you need to firstly take a highway bus from Narita Airport to Haneda Airport (approx. 75-90 minutes). Secondly you should take a flight from Haneda Airport to Itami Airport or Kobe Airport. (Note: you have to book your seat of the flight beforehand).
(ii-1) In case you finally arrive at Itami Airport, you will thirdly take a highway bus from Itami Airport to Sannomiya (approx. 40-50 minutes). Please take a city bus or a taxi at Sannoymiya to reach Kobe Institute.
(ii-2) In case you finally arrive at Kobe Airport, you can take a train named Port Liner to reach Sannomiya, which is the terminal station. Please take a city bus or a taxi at Sannoymiya to reach Kobe Institute.

(iii) If you prefer to use a train to come to Kobe from Narita Airport, please search for your trains at the free search engine "Norikae-Annai" provided by Jorudan. You can find a route with the keywords "Narita-Airport" and "Shin-Kobe". Please take a city bus or a taxi at Shin-Kobe to reach Kobe Institute.

I-3. Taking a train of Shinkansen Line to reach Kobe
If you come from other cities of Japan, probably you will use Shinkansen Line. The station of Shinkansen Line nearest to Kobe Institute is Shin-Kobe. One can reach Shin-Kobe from Tokyo, Shin-Yokohama, Nagoya, etc. using Shinkansen Line.

At the Shin-Kobe station, one can find a taxi easily.

In addition, there is a bus stop "Nunobiki" if one goes out southward from Shin-Kobe station. It is a bus stop of the bus line No. 2 with which you can reach Kobe Institute.

I-4. Information on Kobe Airport
Kobe has its own local airport, Kobe Airport. It is accessible from New Chitose Airport (Sapporo), Haneda Airport (Tokyo), Sendai Airport (Sendai), Kumamoto Airport (Kumamoto), Kagoshima Airport (Kagoshima), and Naha Airport (Naha). See the flight schedule.
After arriving at Kobe Airport, you will take a train called Port Liner to reach Sannomiya station, which is the terminal. Please take a city bus or a taxi at Sannoymiya to reach Kobe Institute.

I-5. Information for participants from Kansai Province
It is easy for participants living inside Kansai Province to reach Kobe Institute. The railway station you should arrive is Hankyu-Rokko or Sannomiya. At these stations, you can find a city bus of 2 Keitou. Please get off the bus at Gomo stop. Then you will go on a sharp slope to reach Kobe Institute following this map.

II-1. Taking a bus in Kobe
You can find a bus at the bus stop near Marui shopping mall in Sannomiya area explained in this map.
You may also find it at Nunobiki bus stop close to Shin-Kobe station (if you come to Kobe by Shinkansen Line). A bus is also found at Hankyu-Rokko station which is convenient if you use Hankyu Line.

Please take a bus labeled No. 2 (in Japanese, Bus "Ni Kei Tou") which is running from Sannomiya to Hankyu-Rokko and vise versa. The list of bus stops for the bus line No. 2 is available from the Kobe City Bus site for Line No. 2.
The bus stop close to the venue is "Gomo" pronounced as "gomoh".
The fair is 200 yen for a single ride for this bus line. It does not depend on the distance of a ride.

From Gomo to Kobe Institute, please walk (actually climb) for 15-20 minutes by following the map provided from Kobe Institute: From Gomo To Kobe Institute

II-2. Taking a taxi in Kobe
It is easy to find a taxi in Sannomia station, Shin-Kobe station, and Hankyu-Rokko station. It costs usually less than 2,500 Yen but possibly a little more.
